The 86th Edwards Family Reunion will be held on the lawn of the Old King William Courthouse on Sunday, August 9, 2015 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Members of all families related to the Edwards Family are cordially invited to attend. In case of inclement weather (rain or heat) the Reunion will be held in the Main Lobby of the King William County Administration Building behind the Old King William Courthouse.
Please bring some of your favorite covered dishes to share as well as a card table and chairs. Drinks, plastic utensils, and paper products will be provided. We will eat after the meeting, and Mark Townsend will be bringing games for the children again this year!
The Edwards Family Reunion scrapbooks have been updated and are always fun to look through. We are always looking for more pictures and articles to add to them. So, please bring copies of your priceless photos! In addition to the scrapbooks, we have a family photo album containing photos of some of our ancestors and their homes. Look and see what has already been done. Maybe you can add to the collection!
Bibb Edwards launched the website Caroline's Journal last June which is still going strong and will last for 2 more years. It is the journal of Caroline Baker [Ellett] Littlepage, of King William County, Virginia, from 1 June 1864 to 22 June 1867. In case you've missed it, you can catch up at: http://thelittlepagejournal.com
Also, thanks to the efforts of Bibb, and the support and encouragement of many, including Patricia Norman, Lloyd Huckstep and other family, and friends. The King William County Historical Museum, located in the Old Courthouse, now has a limited supply of thumb drives of the Burned Records of King William County (1702-1885) for sale. They are $35 each. Also available for sale are King William County Real Estate and Personal Property Tax Records. DVD 1 is from 1782-1875, and DVD 2 is from 1876-1900. The cost is $5 for the set. Both items are available in the Museum’s Gift Shop and in the Clerk's Office. The Museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm and during the week the Clerk's Office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. There is no admission fee to the Museum, but donations are greatly appreciated! Of special interest in the Museum this year is an Edwards Family Display! Stop by either before or after the Reunion to see what they have!
We have been looking for someone to put the Edwards Family Reunion on the Web, and Bibb agreed to do it. In fact, he has already established a website! It's called Edwards Family Reunion, King William County, VA. Although It is in the early beginning stages, it is at: http://kwedwardsreunion.blogspot.com Not much is there yet, but please click on the link to see what is there, and send suggestions of what you think should be included and comments to me as I will be further developing and maintaining it. (I couldn't talk him into doing that, too!)
SAVE THE DATE! Please share this notice with any family members who may not be on our mailing list and encourage them to come. We are always glad to have new family members join us! Bring your entire family, and enjoy an afternoon of great food, fun, and fellowship!
